Myler Embossed Seven Shank w/Narrow Medium Port MB 98

This bit features an embossed 7.5" seven shank with a MB 98 medium port sweet iron mouthpiece. This is a Myler level 3 bit.

The MB 98 does not rotate on to the tongue, but instead sits solidly across the bars and lips of the horses mouth. The port is narrower than most Level 3 mouthpieces, but still offers ample room for the horses tongue to pass under the bit easily. Because the port is narrow, when the reins are engaged, the horse might feel a slight pressure on the outside edges of the tongue a gentle reminder rather than a strong reprimand. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 " high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. Because the MB 98 does not have Independent Side Movement, it has a more solid feel.

The Embossed Seven Shank is an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. This shank uses the combination of fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin and poll. The cheek is embossed with a decorative floral pattern and concho. The mouthpiece attaches to the cheek with a square end that minimizes rein motion. The purchase is angled slightly away from the cheek to avoid rubbing.
